How Baby & Child Fest Was Born…

2013 Baby & Child Fest (158)My husband and I thought for years about the need for a Baby, Child and Family Expo in the New Orleans area and when we moved back to Metairie from Orlando, Florida in 2009, we decided it was time to make it happen. Scott grew up in Metairie and I grew up in Labadieville, outside Thibodaux.

We knew the concept would work, but in 2010 all we had was an idea. Lucky for us, 77 exhibitors and nine sponsors (including our Presenting Sponsor, Ochsner Medical Center – Kenner) believed in it enough to take a chance on us.

The result was a hugely successful first Baby & Child Fest. 200 people were lined up outside the Pontchartrain Center before we opened the doors. Approximately 3,000 people came through the doors during the six hour event. Years two, three, four, five and six were even bigger.

2016 is on track to be our biggest yet. We expanded to the Northshore with the inaugural Northshore Baby & Child Fest in March 2016 at the Castine Center in Mandeville and are now planning our 7th Annual New Orleans Baby & Child Fest set for Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner!

Thanks for your support!
